The question of whether to rezone the old Grand Marsh Grade School property from PSP-1 (public & semi-public district) to A3 (secondary agriculture) at the request of Alsum Farms came before the full County Board of Supervisors last Tuesday.

The Solid Waste Committee held two meetings in the last week to consider privatization of solid waste and recycling operations in the county after Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) proposed purchasing all waste collection operations for $7 million.

The Town of Big Flats held its December meeting on 12/14/2021.  The meeting was well-attended by Big Flats residents.

The Adams Theatre is 75 years old this year! It opened on December 5, 1946, and in honor of that special date, and the fact that the theatre has been an important landmark on Main Street in Adams for these many years, the Adams Community Theatre LTD presented “A Christmas Carol” Radio Show, on December 3, 4, and 5, 2021!

Several issues are still holding up the rollout of the new single point of entry to the County Courthouse building, it was reported at the December 10 Ad Hoc Building Committee meeting. 

The Adams County Library held three special events on December 2, 3 and 4.  The main event was a visit from Santa on Saturday December 4.  About 50 children came to see Santa at the Community Center.  The Open House nights on December 2 and 3 gave the community a chance to see the new multipurpose room at the Library.

A resolution to extend the COVID-19 emergency through March 31, 2022, was unanimously agreed to at the December 3 Administrative and Finance Committee meeting.
