The 170th gun deer season ended on Sunday November 28.  The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reported that the deer harvest dropped 14% statewide on opening weekend.  Adams County followed the trend with lower deer harvest numbers this year than in 2020.

Community members were out and about shopping and celebrating in Adams County on November 27 as Home for the Holidays and Shop Small Business Saturday were celebrated.  
Laura Hook, Adams County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Executive Director said the day went well and that all the volunteers had the Christmas Spirit.

The holiday season is here. While many take this opportunity to be thankful, share with others, support local small businesses, or just be festive, others are looking at the holidays as a way to try to separate hard working people from their money by pitching “too good to be true” schemes.

Demographics show that the population of Adams County is aging more quickly than most of the state and even most of the country. Approximately 30% of the residents in Adams County are aged 65 and that percentage is expected to climb to 50% in just five years.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) published public and choice school report cards as well as district report cards for the 2020-21 school year on Tuesday November 16, as required by Wis. Stat. 115.385.

The annual Veterans Day Assembly was held in person this year in the Adams Friendship High School Gym on November 11.  Mr. Adam Behl, AFHS History Teacher was the Master of Ceremonies.   

The Town Board of Big Flats held its November meeting on 11/9/2021. After the meeting was called to order by Chair Mike Reed, Sheriff Brent York gave a presentation on ATV/UTV issues. He provided a handout listing the most common ATV/UTV rules.

Wisconsin State Assembly Representative Scott Krug (R-Rome), who experienced a medical emergency in January 2021, recently honored the Gundersen Moundview Hospital and Clinics staff who cared for him in the ER with a First Responder of the Year Award.
