April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.  The Guardians of the Children Castle Rock Chapter were once again able to display pinwheels in front of the Adams County Courthouse to help create awareness.  They displayed 14

National Public Health Week, April 4–10, is a celebration to recognize the contributions of public health over the past year and to highlight ways to improve health at the local, state, and national levels. This year’s theme is “Public Health is Where You Are,” recognizing the direct influence public health has on all aspects of life.

The Adams County Board Administrative and Finance Committee met on April 1, 2022, for its last meeting before the April 5 Election.  The minutes of the March 7, 2022, meeting were approved.  No correspondence needed to be reviewed, so the Committee moved on to reports from various county departments: County Treasurer; IT; Human Resources; Corpor

The Adams County ARPA Working Group met by Zoom on March 23, 2022.  This working group is charged with making recommendations to the Adams County Board about how money awarded to the county for losses caused by the pandemic should be used.  The working group is composed of staff from many county departments.

Drug Free Adams County held its March 2022 meeting by Zoom on 3/24/2022.  As usual, the meeting was attended by representatives from Adams County, Juneau County, and various local agencies.  It was announced that Gundersen Moundview in working on choosing a representative to attend future meetings.

The City of Adams Council Regular Session was held on March 21, 2022.  The session was chaired by Council President LeAnn Jungenberg-Klumb.  
After the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call the minutes for the February 21st meeting were approved.  

The Adams County Board of Supervisors held two sessions over three hours on March 15, passing eight resolutions and five ordinances including a new County Forest Ordinance and a new Nonmetallic Mining Ordinance.

City of Adams Police Chief Sam Wollin said, “Balancing safety for students and adjusting for an increase in traffic,” is what has been a recent work in progress for law enforcement and Adams-Friendship Middle School administration and staff.
