The travel season is well underway this summer and the girls softball program is off to a hot start. Last weekend, the girls 12u softball team faced some stiff competition at a tournament in Reedsburg. The team squeaked out a victory on Friday afternoon with a 7-6 win over Middleton.
Audra Gallick took home a 5th place finish in the WIAA State Shot Put event. She also broke the school record in discus with a throw of 119 feet 4 inches.
On Monday, June 14, the Track team traveled to West Salem for one the 16 regional sites selected by the WIAA. Overall, ten Adams-Friendship athletes participated but only two made it through to Sectionals. “At Regionals, our athletes earned 7 PR’s (Personal Records) in an extremely competitive field.
The Spring of 2021 was the most successful season in the 5 year history of AFHS Girls Soccer as a WIAA sport. “It was a bitter sweet year with 8 seniors playing on varsity, the girls have been with this team since their 8th/9th grade and will be truly missed.
On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, the Adams-Friendship Track team traveled to Westfield for the conference meet. In track, 1st team and 2nd team are determined at this meet.
The last time AF faced Lodi was five years ago during a first round regional matchup. In that contest, the Blue Devils prevailed over the Green Devils 10-0 in the 60th minute by mercy rule. This time around, Adams-Friendship was a more seasoned and experienced team.
The girls soccer week began last Tuesday with a long conference road trip to Eau Claire Regis. This was the first time the Green Devils would meet Regis in program history. “We were not sure what to expect, but we knew that unless we bring our A game, this will not be an easy match,” stated Head Coach Krystian Weglarz.
The Adams-Friendship Baseball Team utilized a combined no hitter and banged out seven doubles last week to add three more wins to their record. The team also moved up four spots to #6 in the WBCA Division 2 Coaches Poll.
Finally, after waiting for over a year, the Adams-Friendship Powerlifting team was able to return to the national stage. Unlike recent years, the team is a much younger one sending ten lifters to the national stage. Seven of those lifters competed at the Junior Varsity competition.
