Michael J Cupery, age 33, appeared in Adams County Court on Jan. 6 facing five counts including possession of a firearm as a felon, disorderly conduct, stalking, second degree reckless endangerment, and possession of THC with intent to sell.
At approximately 7:51pm on January 16, 2021, the Rome Police Department responded to the 300 BLK of 15th Ave. for a utility-terrain vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers observed a Can-Am UTV tipped onto its passenger side. The officer found that two injured females were inside the UTV.
At approximately 8:25 a.m. on Tuesday January 6, 2021, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 600 block of Gulch Avenue in the Township Dell Prairie to serve a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) on a Daniel Schweda, age 47 of Wisconsin Dells.
On 01/09/2021 at 1748 hours the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center received multiple 911 calls in regards to a two vehicle head on crash on State Road 21, 1/10 mile east of County Road V. At approximately 10:30am, on January 07, 2021, the Rome Police Department was notified of a UTV that had fallen through the ice on Lake Arrowhead. The driver of the UTV escaped to safety, was assessed by Rome First Responders and Nekoosa Ambulance, and did not suffer any major injuries.
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) held its first meeting in six months on Jan 4. The CJCC, which normally meets quarterly, postponed its October 2020 meeting due to COVID-19 concerns.
With the arrival of Covid-19 we were all advised to travel less and remain at home as much as possible to minimize the risk of exposure to the new virus.
After having his probation revoked, Nicholas Bowe, age 41, returned to Adams County Court on Dec 15 to be resentenced for a 2017 matter where he attempted to strangle his mother. Bowe is currently serving a four month sentence in Sauk County jail.
Chad Lamont, age 44, of Friendship, appeared in Adams County Court facing three charges including misdemeanor battery (with domestic abuse assessments), criminal damage to property as a domestic abuse repeater, and disorderly conduct as a domestic abuse repeater. His prior convictions were in April and July of 2019.
Mark Filenius, age 55 of Prentice, appeared in Adams County Court on Dec. 16 facing charges of hit-and-run and driving under the influences as a third offence. His previous OWI’s were in 1993, and 1995.
