At 6pm, before the Budget and Annual Meeting of the Adams-Friendship Area School District Board of Education, President Rick Pease called a Special School Board Meeting to order on August 23, 2021. All Board Members were present with the exception of Lena Hamilton.

Members of the Moundview Memorial Healthcare Foundation were invited to introduce themselves to the community.  Moundview Memorial Healthcare Foundation was established in 1993 to support the projects and services of the Gundersen Moundview Hospital and Clinics. Here are the responses of those who participated in a short questionnaire.  

“The A-F VFW Post has been the social and civic center of Adams County for many years,” said Scott Colburn, VFW Post 6279 Commander.  That sense of pride is what will make the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the A-F VFW Post 6279 and the 70th Anniversary of the VFW Auxiliary special.  

The final legal challenge from Charles Phieffer to the ownership of the Friendship Lake dam came to an end on Saturday, August 7, when the Friendship Lake District and Phieffer signed a final settlement agreement, it was announced at the Aug. 11 Friendship Lake District Quarterly Board Meeting.

Public Safety Family Night hosted by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office will be held on Thursday August 19 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Adams County Fairgrounds, CTH J in Friendship.  This free event is designed to bring awareness to crime prevention efforts in the community and to foster positive interactions with law enforcement.

The Waller family, who resides in the Friendship and Arkdale area, were honored during an Honor Stone Ceremony on July 31 at The Highground Veterans Memorial Park near Neillsville, Wisconsin.  The stone honored and represented three generations of veterans from three branches of the military who served in three different wars. 

Kay Dahlke, who works in the office at Roche-A-Cri State Park, has an interesting job this summer. She just finished her first year at Fox Valley Technical College in Forensics Science and was looking for a summer job. She happened to see a notice for a job in the office at the state park in Friendship. 

On August 1, 2021, at approximately 5:40 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Petenwell Lake near 20th Aveand Chicago Avenue in the Town of Strongs Prairie for two missing boaters. Witnesses reported a juvenilefemale and her father had jumped into the water and not resurfaced.

The Village of Friendship took up the matter of the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds it received at its August 2 meeting. The Village will receive a total $68,767.24 from the federal government to help offset the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
